1 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking from Kigali

In order to make it to the gorilla trekking starting pint in time, you shall depart early morning at 3:30 am an start the drive to Bwindi right the way. Remember this transfer also includes border crossing, expect to get up early enough to prepare, take breakfast then ensure you have some packed snacks and bottled water for your gorilla trekking.

Depart for the transfer drive that takes about 4 hours including the Katuna or Chanika border crossing to Kabale or Kisoro Town then later to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park offices for the 7:30 am morning Gorilla trekking briefing.

At 8:00 am, the park official will be done with briefing, allocating every group of 8 trekkers a habituated gorilla family and park guide. This is the time to ensure you have the trekking requirements like walking stick, the gloves, the boots, enough water, etc.

Now, it’s the time you will begin navigating through the rainforest, steep slopes to look for mountain gorillas and this takes about 2 to 6 hours inclusive of 1 hour you will have face to face with these rare creatures, taking pictures, learning about their feeding habits, how they socialize and a lot more.

After the encounter with the magnificent gorillas, return to the starting point and collect your Gorilla trekking certificate before embarking an a return drive back to Kigali. Your driver guide shall drop you at your desired point. This will mark the end of your 1 day gorilla trekking Uganda tour.
