On this day, Friendly Gorillas’ professional guide will pick you up from the lodge at 6:30am after your delicious breakfast from your hotel. And you will set off to Murchison Falls NP with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a very exhilarating experience of getting to interact with the magnificent Rhinos. On arrival to this unique place, you will be briefed about your short tour specifically about how to behave while trekking these Rhinos. You need to carefully adhere to the ranger’s instructions because if you act otherwise, the rhinos may get aggressive. While on this nature walk to track the endangered White rhinos, you will also get an opportunity to view other animals like water bucks, bushbuck, kobs, duikers and many others.
After this amazing experience, you will drive to Masindi where you will have your lunch before proceeding to Murchison Falls and depending on the time of arrival, you will start by hiking to the top of the falls. Enjoy this exciting point of seeing the Nile forcing its way through the rock and forming a very attractive scenery.
Early in the morning after your breakfast, your driver will drive you to the Northern part of the park for yet another astonishing activity. This game drive will be early in the morning at 7:00am so you may be able to catch up with world life before they depart to hunt for food. You will have an opportunity to view world life like the cape elephants, kobs, buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, Lions, Leopards, Orbis and many others. From here you will retreat to your lodge for relaxation and lunch as you prepare for the mighty enjoyment at the boat cruise in the afternoon.
After relaxing, you will connect to Paraa Jetty to catch up with the Nile launch cruise to the bottom of the falls at 2pm. Here you will have impressive views of some aquatics like hippos, crocodiles, the shoebill stork and many more. The boat stops at the bottom of the world’s most powerful Waterfall-Murchison Falls. Here after you will connect to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
All day drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal through verdant countryside and past traditional homesteads and farms along Albertine Rift escarpments. Fort-Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon Meals and overnight at your safari lodge of choice according to budget option.
A stunning location overlooking a dramatic Crater Lake and the fabled “Mountains of the Moon”. Time permitting, you shall have the chance to visit the famous Amabere Nga Nyina Mwiru – a cultural site with incredible historical values to the people of Tooro. After this, you shall proceed to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Have an early morning breakfast then set off an adventure to hike the crater lakes of Fort Portal. Experience the breathtaking views of 03 crater lakes in the area as you visit the crater lakes and lava pipe (called “Mwitampungu” which means “a place that kills eagles”) which is a volcanic hole that automatically sucks birds in flight and later releases them in an upward curve. We will also visit the local communities and several scenic viewpoints. Fort Portal boasts a breathtaking natural wonder – its stunning crater lakes. These magnificent lakes were formed by ancient volcanic eruptions, leaving behind a collection of unique, picturesque craters. As you explore this region, each lake reveals its own charm and offerings.
After this exciting adventure, you shall proceed to Queen Elizabeth for an afternoon chimpanzee trekking in the Kyambura gorge for the magnificent views of the jungle friends. Time permitting, you shall also have the chance to have a short game drive for possibility of wild sightseeing. Some of the possible sightings include; elephants, buffaloes, kobs, lions, etc. Proceed to your lodge for relaxation and dinner.
Wake up early, have breakfast, and proceed to Uganda’s most visited National park for the early morning game drive at the Mweya peninsula around the Kazinga Channel. The safari is for about 3 hours and you will follow different trails to spot Jackals, buffaloes, forest hogs, warthogs, the Uganda Kob, Elephants, lions and the elusive leopard. You will be taken back to the lodge to relax or stay at the poolside as you wait for lunch. The two-hour afternoon launch cruise at the Kazinga channel will give you opportunities to spot several bird (Kingfishers, pelicans etc) species, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles and other water animals.
Have an early morning breakfast then set off for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Isasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park – famously known for its resident tree-climbing lions. The chance of spotting these lions is about 70% though sometimes they are really hard to spot (most especially when they’re down in the grassland looking for prey).
Bwindi is a big habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda; harboring an estimated 400 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked. With a strenuous day ahead, you will do less on arrival but just check in your accommodation, relax as you prepare for the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience the following day.
This is a special day dedicated to the impressive mountain gorillas. Undertaking the gorilla trekking experience in the impenetrable forest of Bwindi is such a lifetime endeavor that will create lasting memories.
You gather at the respective park headquarters for a briefing in the morning at 8 am where you are also allocated the respective gorilla families to track. The encounter takes 2 – 8 hours depending on the gorilla movements and one hour is available to you to have a direct touch with the gorillas.
Retreat from the activity and embark on the transfer to Lake Bunyonyi driving through fascinating Kigezi Highlands where locals apply a terracing method to cultivate their slopes deriving an impressive scenic landscape. Take a nice and calm boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi as you enjoy the sights and sounds around the lake.
You will have a relaxed breakfast then you may opt to enjoy a swim in the lake before you set off on the journey to Entebbe via Mbarara and settle at Igongo Cultural Center for lunch (Traditional dishes) but also you will have an option to visit the cultural museum here and embark on your drive to Kampala. You can make an en-route stopover at the Equator (if time allows) for more photos and pass through the gift shops to secure yourself memorabilia as a commemoration of your gorilla and wildlife safari in Uganda.
