As you kick start your gorilla adventure, today upon your arrival in Entebbe, our driver-guide will pick you up from the airport or hotel in Kampala/Entebbe and immediately after a short briefing, you shall head for a whole day drive towards the Kigezi land. You shall head south-west of Uganda, passing through Masaka, Lyantonde, Mbarara and Kabale before reaching Kisoro.
There shall be simple breaks like at the Uganda Equator where you get to engage in the Equator experience and then proceed to Mbarara for lunch. After lunch, we will begin our journey to Kigezi Plateau. A winding drive through rolling hills with stunning terraces that connect you to Kabale before finally reaching Kisoro. Proceed to check in for relaxation, diner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, your driver will take you to the parks headquarters where you will be briefed on the details of gorilla trekking. After registrations and a simple entertainment from the local women, you shall then start your track to the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas.
After locating the gentle giants, you shall spend an hour close to them as you observe them play, relate and feed. Take as may pictures as you want and ask as much questions as you need before returning to the gorilla trekking starting point to collect your trekking certificate after which you proceed for an evening relaxation boat trip in Lake Bunyonyi.
If you prefer, you may opt for an evening in Bwindi. This means after gorilla trekking, you shall engage in an exciting Batwa cultural encounter where you shall learn more about how the Batwa live their lives, how they make fire from cow-dung and much more. This is also an exciting experience you shall love.
After breakfast, depart for Kampala, stopping for lunch along the way. If your departure flight is late at night, your driver/guide will drop you at the airport or if you prefer to be dropped off at your hotel, no worries. We shall bid you farewell as you return back home. Thank you for choosing Friendly Gorilla Safari
