5-Day Kahuzi Biega Congo Gorilla Trekking & Chimp Safari in Rwanda

Early in the morning after your delicious breakfast at hotel in Kigali, you will be picked by our experienced English speaking driver guide ready to set off to Cyangugu south of Rwanda. He/she will brief you about the safari and you will be driven via magnificent landscapes of southern Rwanda and later have a stopover at Nyanza to explore the royal palace called Rukaari, a home to the king Rudahigwa for an intense cultural and traditional experience.

You will have another incredible stopover at Butare town for lunch, stretching and visit the Rwanda national museum which is famous as one of the biggest museums in East Africa which offers more on heritage experiences. After, you will set off to Cyangugu crossing to Bukavu Congo for dinner and overnight.

Have a breakfast at the lodge, later you will set off for gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park-Congo. This primate adventure is dramatic and offers a chance for tourists to learn the behavior of the lowland gorillas in depth and the mountain gorillas at large. You will spend approximately 1-4hours depending on where these primates are situated and your speed for hiking.

You will be given only one hour to strike your imaginations with these unique animals in the wild. After, you will embark on a nature walk around the park trails as you explore and experience the Tshibati waterfall which gives the most stunning sceneries. Later, you will return to your lodge where you will have dinner and rest.

After an early breakfast we will drive crossing the Cyangungu border to Nyungwe. You shall arrive here in the early afternoon and proceed for lunch. Later transfer back to your lodge for relaxation.

Today morning after your healthy breakfast, you will kick start with a drive to the Nyungwe forest national park for a briefing on Chimpanzee trekking. Here, you shall be grouped before venturing into the forest for an exciting opportunity to locate and sightsee the impressive hum-like primates.

After the encounter, proceed for a forest walk to explore a few other primates, learn about the different tree species, vegetation. Take in the calm breeze of the wild as you spot various butterflies and birds.

Today morning after your breakfast, you will kick start canopy walk. Since your drive is in the morning, we shall go for a canopy walk that starts at 8:00am. During the walk that stretches for 160 meters, you shall have a great view of the parks primate. You shall need a hiking boot or shoes and ensure you have your camera ready to take some great photos for your memory.

After the encounter, continue for a drive to Kigali where you are dropped off later at the Kigali International airport or at a desired accommodation of your preference.
