Day 1: Rwenzori Mountains Nature Walk and Return
Your guide from Friendly Gorillas picks you up from your hotel or lodge near Kasese, Fort Portal, Queen Elizabeth National Park, or the Rwenzori region. After a short briefing, you transfer to the selected nature walk starting point.
On arrival, you meet the local guide or ranger guide who explains the route, walking pace, safety points, and what to expect. The final trail depends on weather, guest fitness, available time, and local guidance.
You then begin the nature walk through the lower Rwenzori environment. The walk may include forest paths, river views, plants, birds, local scenery, and mountain foothill landscapes. On a clear day, you may enjoy views toward the higher Rwenzori slopes.
This activity gives you a simple but rewarding mountain experience. It is not about rushing or climbing high. It is about enjoying fresh air, learning from the guide, taking photos, and experiencing the Rwenzori at a comfortable pace.
After the walk, return to the starting point and transfer back to your lodge or continue with your Uganda safari route.
