Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Upon your arrival in Uganda, you will be picked up by our driver guide and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park after a delicious breakfast. It is a 9-hour drive from Kampala to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. You will have a stopover and also take lifetime photographs at the Equator in Kayabwe town – Mpigi district.

This trip is made more enjoyable and amazing by several stopovers to buy roadside snacks and fruits. Take a break for lunch en route and intend to arrive in the evening. Dinner and an overnight stay at the Lodge are included.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

Very Early this day, get up and grab a hot cup of coffee, then your guide will drive you to the Ntebeko Information Center with your prepared lunch. Register to get a concise overview of gorilla trekking’s dos and the don’ts. A hike will start at 8:00 am in search of the Nyakagezi gorilla family which is Mgahinga Gorilla National Park’s only habituated gorilla family.

It’s a strenuous climb up and downhill through dense woodland and lush vegetation, but a magical encounter with the majestic mountain gorillas is well worth it. Spend your magical hour with these gentle giants as you take pictures and enjoy the human-like personalities of the gorillas in their natural habitat.

Mountain gorilla trekking is one of the most incredible and awe-inspiring natural experiences as well as activities to do in Uganda. retreat to your lodge for dinner, refreshment and overnight.

Day 3: Community tour and golden monkey trekking

Awake on today’s early morning with more expectations to encounter the endangered Golden monkeys, take a cup of tea, then head to the Ntebeko Visitor Information Center for briefing and registration. Two-armed Park rangers are to be assigned to each squad.

Start your hike up the hill trails in search of the golden monkeys. The hike takes about 3-4 hours, and you get an hour to spend with golden monkeys once you have sighted them. Enjoy their playful antics, snap photos, record live videos, and immerse yourself in this beautiful and breathtaking encounter.

In the evening, you get to visit nearby communities to meet local Batwa people and around the campfire, you learn about their customs, cultural performances, music, culture, and more. After a long day trek with an evening Batwa experience, retreat to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Departure

After an early morning breakfast, check out from the comfortable lodge and return to Kampala via the Igongo Cultural Center for a luxurious local buffet, continue via the Equator for a final memories and shop craft and souvenirs, then finally head to Entebbe Airport for your departure trip.
