When is the greatest time to see mountain gorillas?
There has been much discussion on whether or not there is an exact time of year to hike gorillas in Uganda or track gorillas there.
A number of debates and points of view have been presented in several ways, one of which is on internet discussion boards like TripAdvisor and lonely planet, amongst others. The reality of the matter is that gorillas in Uganda can be tracked at any time of the year, and customers get virtually the same level of excitement. This is due to the fact that many Uganda gorilla trekking undertakers have a tendency to avoid traveling during the rainy season. Even if Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is situated in an Equatorial Forest, there is a very high chance that it can rain anytime, any day.
Best time to view gorillas
For short, the best time to track gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda is during the dry months of June, July, August, and the beginning of September. This is because these are the months when there is the least amount of rainfall.
When compared to other months, such as April, May, and November, the amount of precipitation that falls during these months is significantly lower. As a result of the fact that many choose to schedule their gorilla treks during these months, the market is competitive and because of this, an earlier preparation is very recommended.
Those who are interested in trekking gorillas during this period or season should make their reservations for gorilla permits as soon as possible because gorilla permits have a tendency to sell out rapidly.
Mountain gorillas, which are among the most endangered species on earth, can be found in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the Virunga ranges, which are shared by three countries: Uganda (Mgahinga National Park), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Virunga National Park), and Rwanda (Volcanoes National Park). Gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest are located in the Virunga ranges. In addition, customers pay a premium to watch or walk in the area where these primate species live since they are critically endangered. Clients would love to optimize their experience when it comes to gorilla trekking and the best time to visit them because the current price of gorilla permits is $1500 USD in Rwanda and $600 USD in Uganda. Because of this, clients would love to know when the ideal time to visit them.
Many have a tendency to believe that the drier seasons are the greatest time to hike gorillas since the equator passes through Uganda, giving the country a modified equatorial kind of climate. As the equator passes through Uganda, the country also has two distinct rainy seasons. It is true that when it is raining, it is difficult to climb and trek in the impenetrable forest since heavy rains make the pathways extremely treacherous for those activities. The roads leading to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park are prone to becoming icy, and the rivers that run through the park frequently flood, making entry difficult.
