DAY 1: Transfer To Bwindi
The first day of the 3-Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour will begin with a departure from either Entebbe or Kampala. This will be the beginning of your adventure. Between eight and nine hours is needed to go by car from Entebbe or Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, which is situated in southwestern Uganda. Although it can seem like quite a lengthy trip, it is well worth it since you get to appreciate the countryside beauty, which includes some of the most stunning panoramas, ranging from plantations and hills all the way up to the Virunga Massif. Just be sure to have your cameras close by, and your driver will undoubtedly pull over if you ask him to in order for you to get a good shot of that breathtaking scene.
Before continuing on to Mbarara town for lunch, you will have a pit break along the way at the Equator crossing at Kayabwe for the purpose of taking photographs and doing a straightforward experiment. Following lunch, you will begin the beautiful trip to either Bwindi National Park or Kabale, where you will spend the night at either Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tavern Lodge.
DAY 2: Uganda Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park
Following an early breakfast, your guide will take you to the headquarters of Ruhija National Park for a briefing, where you will also join the other participants in the briefing before you all travel into the jungle to begin your gorilla trek. This hike can range anything from thirty minutes to seven hours, depending on how far away the mountain gorilla family is at the time and where they are currently located. After you have located the gorillas, you will be given the opportunity to spend one hour with them, during which time you will be able to observe their behavior and take photographs. After that, you will be required to return to the Park Headquarters in order to receive a certificate attesting to the fact that you have tracked gorillas in Uganda. The Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or the Trekkers Tervan Lodge will be your home for the night.
DAY 3: Departure
You will be taken back to Kampala or Entebbe after breakfast for your post-tour accommodation, or you may choose to fly out of Uganda on the final day of your vacation instead of returning to either of those cities for your post-tour accommodation. Before going on to Kampala or Entebbe, you will have another opportunity to stop at the Equator crossing for the purpose of taking photographs, shopping for mementos, or simply relaxing before continuing along the same path.
