1 Day Uganda Gorilla Tour – One day Short Gorilla Trekking from Kigali or Kisoro

Tour Overview

This 1 Day short gorilla trekking tour package to Bwindi Forest is designed for clients who may not have enough time to spare but wish to track gorillas in one day before heading for work or a meeting/workshop.

The package is therefore designed for those who are already in Kisoro or Kabale. The tour can also start from Kigali in Randa.

This will require waking up very early in the morning (3:30 am) to start the 3-hour journey to Bwindi. The final cost includes the price of the gorilla permit which is secured well in advance of the tour.

Detailed Itinerary

1 Day gorilla safari in Uganda

You will have to get up really early in order to eat breakfast at your restaurant. Depending on whether your hotel is in Kisoro or Kabale, a guide/driver from Mission Africa Safaris will pick you up between 5 and 6 a.m. Request that the hotel or lodge staff wake you up promptly and prepare a meal, sandwich, or other snack for you.

The briefing at the park offices normally takes place between 7:30 and 8 a.m., and it is designed to teach you how to behave with gorillas and what to expect.

You’ll be separated into groups of eight (or fewer, depending on the season) and allocated to various gorilla groups based on your general health and preferences. The park is home to ten habituated gorilla species.

Be mentally prepared for the walk, as it could be tiring or last longer than scheduled, depending on the location of your allocated gorilla family on that particular day. Bring gorilla tracking boots, long stockings, a raincoat, a hat, and rain-proof trousers with you.

Park rangers will provide you with a trekking stick and accompany you on your journey – Pay attention to what they’re doing.

Porters can be hired for about $15 to relieve you of the pressure of dragging extra heavy bags, allowing you to concentrate on gorilla watching.

You’ll just have an hour with the gorillas, so take as many pictures and videos as possible as soon as you see them and are cleared. Our guide will pick you up and drive you to your hotel in Kisoro or Kabale after you’ve finished seeing the gorillas.
