Go Budget Gorilla Trekking
The cost of gorilla trekking is one of the highest compared to other tourist activities in Africa, but it is unquestionably money well spent. It absolutely separates you from the other people who are traveling. When you travel, one of your greatest desires is to see unusual things, and gorillas are certainly among those things. The mountain gorilla trek is the most well-known and popular variety of gorilla trekking. This is something that can only be done in Uganda; nowhere else in the world is it possible.
Tours to the mountain gorillas in Uganda on a budget
Gorilla permits in Uganda cost $700 each for the entire year, but you can still go gorilla trekking in Uganda on a budget even though the cost of the permits is so high. If you want to succeed in this endeavor, all you need to do is bring together a few key components. You can’t just wing it when it comes to putting together a reasonable and affordable gorilla safari itinerary. You need to improve your planning skills or consult with us so that we can plan it for you. On this basis, we will investigate any and all possibilities for reducing the overall price of your vacation package. Do not let yourself be misled into booking low-cost gorilla safaris; otherwise, it is highly doubtful that you would like the experience. Most budget gorilla trekking expeditions are pleasant and enjoyable. Choosing to spend less money involves making use of the least expensive facilities and services, which will invariably be flawed in some way.
We take great care in both the planning and pricing of our affordable gorilla safaris. Because we continue to use lodges in the middle category to handle these kinds of trips, I would actually say that they are significantly discounted. Being a gorilla trekking organization, we have formed partnerships with a few different lodging establishments and service providers in Uganda. These partnerships allow us to purchase a variety of services at significantly reduced prices. Because of this, we are able to keep the rates of our tour packages at a reasonable level while yet providing a certain level of comfort.
There are a few things you as a visitor can do to bring down the overall cost of your safari experience. These include booking a shorter trip, selecting more affordable lodging options, traveling with a large group of other people to share common costs like transportation, cutting back on activities, gorilla trekking only once, arriving and departing through Kigali in Rwanda, and traveling during the shoulder season when facilities offer discounts, amongst other cost-cutting measures. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park are the two parks in Uganda where gorilla safaris can be experienced. There is no difference in cost for obtaining a gorilla permit between the two national parks. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a more memorable experience, you should go to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Cheap gorilla safaris in Rwanda
Rwanda is not an affordable gorilla trekking option. Because the gorilla permit rates here are so costly, the cost of a single permit on its own can actually cover the cost of an entire short gorilla safari in Uganda, including lodging, transportation, and everything else that is required for the trip. During the peak and low seasons, the price of a gorilla permit in Rwanda is respectively $1500 and $1050, depending on whether you plan to visit other Rwandan national parks. A gorilla safari in Uganda lasting for at least two days will set you back a minimum of $1250 per person. As can be seen, the cost of a permission to enter Rwanda is significantly more expensive.
Volcanoes National Park is the sole destination for gorilla tracking in all of Rwanda. The close proximity of this park to the capital city of Kigali is one of the reasons why tourists like to go gorilla trekking in Rwanda. The distance to Volcanoes National Park from Kigali is only about two hours. This makes it easy to come in Rwanda, trek gorillas, and go on the same day; this is not the case while visiting Uganda. When compared to the other countries where gorilla trekking can be done, Rwanda offers the least complicated and stressful experience. Furthermore, the view of Volcanoes National Park is very breathtaking. In contrast to the experience you will have in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will have to trek through the forest to reach higher elevations in order to see gorillas in their natural habitat, you will have the opportunity to search for gorillas while climbing the Virunga Volcano Mountains.
But, just like with any other vacation spot, there is always the possibility of cutting costs on a safari. Although we strongly encourage customers on our budget gorilla vacation packages to trek gorillas in Uganda or the DR Congo, we equally acknowledge the possibility that they would choose Rwanda above the other gorilla trekking destinations. Hence, if this is the case, reducing the number of travel days, selecting housing facilities with lower expenses, and foregoing other activities that are not necessary should help you reduce the total cost of your safari. If at all feasible, try to come extremely early in the morning (say at 0400 hours), transport straight to Volcanoes National Park, hike gorillas, and depart on the same day. If this is not possible, attempt to arrive as early as possible. You will be able to save money as a result of this.
Cheap gorilla safaris in Congo
If it weren’t for the dangers that exist there, the Democratic Republic of the Congo would unquestionably be the best place in the world to go gorilla trekking on a budget. It seems that the price of a gorilla permit in the Congo, which is only $400 per person, is the lowest of any of the other places. In contrast to Uganda and Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo is home to two distinct species of gorillas: mountain gorillas and lowland gorillas. Virunga National Park, which is located in Goma and is located along the Virunga Conservation Area, is home to mountain gorillas. Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are the three countries that share the Virunga Conservation Area. This territory is shared by three national parks: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (Uganda), Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda), and Virunga National Park (Congo). As a result, gorillas are able to quickly migrate between nations and national parks depending on how mobile they are.
There are lowland gorillas at the Kahuzi-Biega National Park in Bukavu, which is located in the province of South Kivu. Lowland gorillas inhabit lower elevated regions, whereas mountain gorillas call higher altitudes home. If you want to hike less but still want to see gorillas, you can visit the lowland gorillas at Kahuzi-Biega National Park. If you want to hike more but still want to see gorillas, you can embark on mountain gorilla tracking adventures. There is no difference in price for a gorilla permit across the several parks. The entry points are the only points of differentiation.
To visit the mountain gorillas in Virunga National Park, you will need to fly into Kigali, which is the capital of Rwanda, and then cross the border into Congo at the Gisenyi checkpoint. It is necessary to travel all the way to Rusizi District, which is where Nyungwe Forest National Park is located, and then pass over to Bukavu in order to trek the lowland gorillas that live in Kahuzi-Biega National Park. It takes roughly two hours to travel to Kahuzi-Biega National Park from the border region surrounding Bukavu. It is possible to track gorillas in the Congo on an inexpensive expedition. Consider going to see the lowland gorillas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo if you are looking for a secure location to undertake gorilla trekking. When compared to Goma, the province of South Kivu has a significantly higher level of safety.
The most cost-effective approach to view gorillas in Uganda
How much does it often cost to see Uganda’s gorillas, and what are the options? Although not everyone can afford a luxurious vacation, gorilla tracking is something that can be done by everybody. Even if your finances are really constrained but you are still interested in seeing mountain gorillas in Uganda, we are here to assist you. We are able to reduce the cost of your vacation package to a shoestring level, which is rumored to be the most affordable method to view gorillas in Africa. There is a significant split between what is known as budget gorilla trekking and what is known as inexpensive gorilla trekking, as was discussed earlier. You might look into the most cost-effective ways to view gorillas in Uganda or any other destination, provided that you are not concerned about the facilities and services that you are certain to enjoy during your trip.
Should you opt for Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda on a Budget?
If you want to track gorillas without breaking the bank, going on a gorilla tour in Rwanda is probably not the best choice for you. The Rwanda gorilla permit is so pricey that you could use that money to purchase an entire vacation package to either Uganda or the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is not as far away from Kigali as Volcanoes National Park is, which may be one reason why more people choose to walk with gorillas in Rwanda. Nonetheless, the distance between Kigali and Volcanoes National Park is still quite short. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, which is somewhat smaller than Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, actually offers gorilla trekking opportunities. Choose Rwanda as your destination only if you intend to travel in style. That way, you won’t have to worry about the expense of the gorilla permit.
Lodges and accommodations at a discount for gorilla safaris
When it comes to traveling on a budget, finding affordable lodging is one of the most important considerations. There are a variety of gorilla safari lodges, and not all of them offer reasonable prices and good accommodations. Finding one and forming a partnership with them, not to mention securing a second and third choice in case the first one runs out of availability, is a challenging endeavor for an operator. If you are a client who is interested in gorilla trekking on a budget, you should allow your tour operator the opportunity to select an accomodation facility for you. The vast majority of the time, they will select the establishment with which they have established a working relationship and will provide you with hospitable lodging at steeply discounted rates. It is possible that you will have a difficult time planning your safari if you are someone who likes to travel on a budget yet is choosy about where they stay.
Online reservations for gorilla permits in Uganda, suitable for those on a tight budget.
Via a travel service such as ours, you are able to make online reservations for gorilla permits in Uganda. We will make the reservations for your gorilla permits, reschedule them for you if that is necessary, and print them out for you a few days before your trip. The price of a gorilla permit in Uganda remains constant at $700 per individual. There are no discounts available during the off season. The cost does not change at any point during the year. Reservations for gorilla permits need to be made months in advance. If you book your permits at least six months in advance, you should be able to take advantage of the favored availability.
Cost and cost breakdown for gorilla treks
The entire cost of gorilla trekking is determined by a number of factors, some of which are the style of gorilla trekking, the length of the safari, the travel class, and the mode of transportation used to get to the gorillas. If you want to plan a safari that won’t break the bank, you should consider the following aspects, in particular your lodging, mode of transportation, travel class, and the kind of gorilla trekking you want to do.
It should be possible for you to have a low-cost but comfortable trip if you make reservations at reasonably priced lodging establishments, take safari van transportation, downgrade your travel class, and participate in the standard gorilla trekking experience rather than gorilla habituation. Yet, you need to consider all of these aspects and think about how they connect to the ease of your journey. If there is anything that could make your vacation less comfortable, you should eliminate it. The most important thing is to plan a trip that is not just economical but also enjoyable. There is no need to endure a lengthy flight followed by subpar accommodations once you arrive at your destination. It is imperative that everything runs smoothly.
Is it worthwhile to go gorilla trekking at a low price in Uganda?
It would appear that tracking gorillas in Uganda is the most rewarding experience. Only the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has four different areas from which visitors can trek in order to see gorillas. The Rushaga Sector, the Nkuringo Sector, the Buhoma Sector, and the Ruhija Sector are some examples of these. Because of the varied topography and environments, each of these areas provides a little different experience than the others and is distinctive in its own right. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is another option for gorilla tracking in Uganda. It is similar in size and difficulty to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park, together with the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, are all part of the Virunga Conservation Area. Mgahinga is somehow diverse as it gives golden monkey trekking aswell.
How physically demanding is the reasonably priced gorilla trekking in Uganda?
Gorilla tracking in Uganda can be done at varying degrees of difficulty. You are free to choose the level of challenge that is presented to you. If you are ready to endure, you have the option of trekking the shortest gorilla family or going for the longest and most difficult option. The gorilla tracking experience in Uganda might last anywhere from two to eight hours. Nowadays park wardens locate gorilla groups the day before and steer people towards the proper route. In this way, they will always be aware of which groups are far away and which ones are close, allowing them to allocate members of each group appropriately. If you plan on going on a longer hike, you should make sure to eat a hearty breakfast and bring a sufficient amount of a packed lunch, energy snacks, drinks, and a first aid kit with you.
Uganda gorilla trekking permit availability
Because Uganda is considered to be the best location in the world for gorilla tracking safaris, a large number of people visit the country, and as a result, gorilla tracking permits are typically reserved months in advance. The tourism business in Uganda experiences three distinct seasons: the low season, the high season, and the peak season. The beginning of the low season begins in March and continues through May as well as October and November. The months of June through September make up the high season, while the months of December and January mark the beginning of the peak season. The month of February is regarded to be the height of the busy season. When planning a trip during the high travel season, it is highly recommended that gorilla permits be reserved at least six months in advance. Reservations for the high season should be made around the same time every year. Bookings during the off-season can be made at the eleventh hour because there is always availability.
Uganda gorilla trekking packing list
You need to make sure that you have everything on your packing list in order to enjoy a gorilla trekking experience that is stress-free. You should bring a raincoat, long jeans or khaki trousers, a first aid kit, energy snacks, cameras or camcorders, sun glasses, a cap, garden gloves, and long-sleeved shirts along with you as you make your way into the forest in order to search for gorillas. Other essential items include cameras or camcorders, energy snacks, cameras or camcorders, and sun glasses. These are products that absolutely must be included on your packing list. Because hiking can be tough and hectic at times, you should not forget any of your gear. The very first step toward having a good gorilla excursion is to engage in adequate pre-trip preparation.
Best time for gorilla trekking in Uganda
Since Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo all share the same climatic zone, the greatest time to go gorilla trekking in Uganda is also the best time to go gorilla trekking in Rwanda and the DR Congo. Any activity that includes hiking, including gorilla trekking, is best done when the weather is dry. This is also true for any other outdoor activity. Even if going during the driest season would ensure that you have a pleasant climb, there is one significant drawback to doing so. As a consequence of the gorillas’ need to travel great distances in dry weather in order to find grass, gorilla trekking can be challenging at times. This is not the case during the wet season, however, as mountain gorillas are able to easily obtain food close to where they are located; as a result, gorilla trekking during this time is significantly less difficult. The months of June through September and December through February in Uganda are considered to be the finest times for gorilla trekking. April in Uganda is considered to be the most inclement month for gorilla tracking.
When to visit Uganda for the best gorilla experiences on a budget
April is the month that offers the greatest value for money when it comes to gorilla safaris in Uganda. This is also the month that is typically regarded as having the greatest quantity of rainfall. Yet, the weather in Uganda is somewhat peculiar. In some years, the amount of precipitation that falls in April is lower than the amount that falls in August. While there are a lot of permits available in April, purchasing a gorilla permit at the last minute can increase the likelihood that you will have a dry day for gorilla trekking. During this month, you will be eligible for significant price reductions on a variety of lodging options.
Gorilla & Chimpanzee Hiking Uganda
It is a fantastic idea to go on safari in Uganda in order to see both gorillas and chimpanzees. Kibale Forest National Park is not only the best location for gorilla trekking in the world, but it is also the best destination for chimpanzee trekking. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the best place for gorilla trekking in the world. Both chimpanzees and gorillas are close relatives of humans, however, chimpanzees are more closely related. It’s common knowledge that gorilla tracking is the most popular activity in Uganda, but chimpanzee safaris aren’t nearly as well known. Chimpanzee tracking in Uganda may be a lot of fun. They are located in a number of locations, including but not limited to Kibale Forest National Park, Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Kalinzu Forest, Budongo Forest, Kyambura Gorge, and a few more. Chimpanzee trekking is an incredible experience that should not be missed by anyone traveling to Uganda.
What is the minimum age for tracking gorillas?
There are quite a few restrictions to follow when going gorilla trekking, and one of these rules is the minimum age requirement for going gorilla trekking. For you to be eligible for a gorilla pass, you need to be at least 15 years old. A gorilla permit cannot be issued to anyone younger than this in either Rwanda or the Democratic Republic of the Congo. On the other hand, Uganda’s situation is unique. You have the option of signing a form of indemnification that consents to any liabilities that might arise as a result of your child not following the specific laws and regulations that pertain to the gorilla trekking experience. When you have signed this form, a pass may be issued to any child who is eleven years old or older.
Is altitude sickness a problem?
Although Bwindi Impenetrable National Park does not have an extremely high altitude, visitors will not have to worry about suffering from altitude sickness while trekking gorillas there. The same is true for Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, as well as the national parks of Virunga and Kahuzi-Biega in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Before setting out on a trip, many people worry about getting altitude sickness because the symptoms of this condition can make you feel sick to your stomach and make you want to stop doing the activity entirely. If you suffer altitude sickness, you won’t be able to continue with your activity, and in the worst case scenario, your trip altogether. Because of this, you need to give it the attention it deserves. The good news is that gorilla tracking does not put participants at risk of developing altitude sickness.
Uganda vs Rwanda gorilla trekking
It would appear that Uganda and Rwanda are the best places in the world to go gorilla trekking. The question is, which of these locations is more desirable? There are a lot of articles out there with a lot of data; published by both bloggers and PR firms on behalf of tourism organizations quoting different information; however, as a person on the ground, I would argue that Uganda is the best place in the world to go gorilla trekking. In addition to possessing two mountain gorilla national parks and four hiking sectors within Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda is home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population.
