Kidepo Valley National Park

The awe-inspiring Kidepo Valley National Park is nestled in the remote northeastern region of Uganda and spans over 1,440 km2.

The park receives few numbers of visitors because of its remote location. However, it habors a variety and sheer abundance of flora and fauna.

On a safari in Kidepo Valley National Park, you get to encounter lions, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, oryx, wild dogs, buffalo and hippopotamus.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is renowned for its vast landscape and biological diversity, while it is considered a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO, Bwindi National Park is home to over half of the world’s critically endangered mountain gorillas.

Its the only park in Uganda that offers gorilla habituation. The park is also home to the rare black and white Colobus monkeys as well as a birders’ haven with over 350 different bird species.

Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo is Uganda’s most accessible park from Kampala. The park was named after the main water body – Lake Mburo.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park:

Nestled in Mbale district in the Eastern part of the country, Mount Elgon National Park lies on the border between Uganda and Kenya.

The park was named after the Mount Elgon which is the park’s top attraction. The Mount Elgon is an extinct volcano with its caldera spanning over 42km and Wagagai as its highest peak.

The mountain slopes are saturated with natural forests, bushes, caves, gorges and waterfalls. The park is also home to numerous bird species and primates such as Colobus Monkeys, blue monkeys, vervet monkeys among others.

The Rwenzori Mountains National Park

Famously known as the “Mountains of the Moon”, Mountain Rwenzori is located at the border between Uganda and DR Congo.

The park was named after the Mountain Rwenzori which it spans. The park offers thrilling hiking sports on Mountain Rwenzori with the highest snow-capped peak known as Margherita.

The mountain slopes are covered with dense forests that are inhabited by primates, forest hogs and several bird and butterfly species.
