Overview of the 3 Day Murchison Falls and White Rhino Tracking
The three-day safari to Murchison Falls National Park takes you to Uganda’s biggest national park, which is home to a plethora of animals and the world’s most strong waterfall. The park is 305 kilometers (4-5 hours) from Kampala. You’ll see tigers, giraffes, leopards, antelopes, hippos, and birds along the way, not to mention southern white rhinos at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Additionally, from the vantage point at the end, take in the breathtaking view of the waterfall.
Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park from your Kampala hotel or pickup place.
From Kampala, you’ll be transported to Murchison Falls National Park. You will pause at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, located 176 kilometers from Kampala, for an exclusive rhino monitoring experience on foot as well as other animals such as oribis, Uganda Kobs, and after-tracking rhinos; you will then resume your trip and stop in Masindi town for lunch. Then go to Murchison Falls National Park for the night.
Day 2: Game drive first thing in the morning, start cruise, and hike to the top of the falls
After breakfast, the driver guide will pick you up from your lodge for a morning game drive along the park’s trails, where you’ll see giraffes, lions, antelopes, buffalo herds, birds, hippos, and birds, among other animals. After that, you’ll have lunch at your cabin before getting ready for the afternoon boat ride and climb to the top of the waterfall, which starts at 2 p.m.
Return to Kampala on the third day.
After breakfast, go to Budongo Forest for chimp monitoring, primate viewing, and a nature hike. Leave the park through Budongo forest on the southern bank, stopping for lunch in Masindi before continuing on to Kampala.
