Itinerary overview
Take on this twenty-one day Uganda comprehensive safari to expose you to the most famous national parks in Uganda, which come with breathtaking views that will blow you off your feet. During this safari, you will completely engage in the most exciting activities, such as gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, hiking to the top of Murchison Falls, chimp trekking, a boat tour through the Kazinga Channel, and many more.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
When you arrive, your experienced guide from adventure in the wild safaris will meet you and transport you to one of Kampala’s hotels. Relax for a while and eat your food. If you arrive on time, you will be given a city tour; if not, you will have supper at the hotel and then relax in preparation for the next day. As a result, on this day, all activities will be dependent on your arrival time..
Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, your tour guide will meet you at the lodge and drive you to Lake Mburo National Park. The journey to the park will take between 3 and 4 hours. You will be checked in at the park entry and led to the lodge where you will spend the night. After lunch, you will go on an evening boat trip where you can view creatures such as hippos, crocodiles, and zebras, to name a few. You’ll then arrive to your lodge, have dinner, and rest up for the next day.
Day 3: Early morning game drive and afternoon nature walk
You will wake up very early in the morning, have your morning tea, and then depart for your morning game drive in the park, where you will view a variety of species like zebras, impalas, and many others. From there, you will return to the lodge for lunch before returning in the evening for your evening nature walk in the park, where you will be able to appreciate the Banyankole community as well as the stunning panorama of the acacia rolling hills. You will return to the lodge, have dinner, and then relax in preparation for the next day.
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and Canoe Paddle in the Evening
After your morning tea, you will most definitely wake up early in the morning, get a cup of coffee, and then begin your trek to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest lake. When you arrive, you will be checked in and escorted to where you may spend your downtime while relaxing. You will have lunch before going on an evening canoe paddle excursion to explore the gorgeous lake. You will then return to the resort to freshen, have supper at Bird Nest, and relax.
Day 5: Boat ride and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
You will wake up early, eat your breakfast, and then return to Lake Bunyonyi for your morning boat excursion while watching the sun rise over the lake. You will also get the opportunity to visit the lovely and rolling islands that surround the lake. You will arrive at the lodge, eat lunch, and then depart for Mgahinga National Park.
Day 6: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Bwindi
After your morning tea, your certified tour guide will pick you up at your lodge and take you to the park headquarters for a briefing on the rules and regulations of trekking the golden monkeys. You will soon arrive in the bush and begin your hunt for monkeys. You will be given time to spend with the monkeys and snap photographs once you have them. You will then be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after arriving at the lodge for lunch.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking encounter
You will need to get up very early in the morning, have your morning tea, and then be picked up by your guide at 7 a.m. to proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on how to do gorilla trekking. Then, at 8 a.m., you’ll be split into groups of eight people. You will then enter the park and begin your walk. Once you’ve captured the primates, you’ll have plenty of time to spend with them while having fun and shooting photographs. After that, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch and relax before heading out on an evening guided nature walk where you’ll meet and engage with locals.
Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a cup of tea, you will be picked up by your guide and driven to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will be checked in at the park entry and then directed to the lodge where you will spend the night. After lunch, you will embark on an evening wildlife drive where you will view a variety of creatures such as elephants, lions, and leopards, to name a few. You’ll return to the lodge, have dinner, and then relax for the following day.
Day 9: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Wake up, have breakfast, and go on a game drive. Early game drives are very exciting because the animals are still sunbathing and haven’t gone hunting yet. The guide will assist you in seeing wildlife such as elephant herds, lions, and leopards, to name a few and numerous bird species. You then go back to lodge have lunch and set off for boat ride where you be able to spot hippos, crocodiles and flamingos at the water side. Back to lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 10: Chimp trekking and transfer to Rwenzoris
After your morning tea, your experienced tour guide will pick you up and transport you to the park headquarters for a briefing on how to trek the chimps. You will then be separated into groups of 10 to 12 people and led into the bush to begin your walk. Once you’ve captured these primates, you’ll have ample time to spend with them while shooting photographs. You will arrive at the lodge, eat lunch, and then be taken to Kasese, where you will see the slopes of the famous Rwenzori mountains, also known as the mountains of the moon.
Day 11: Full day Rwenzori hiking adventure
Start at Trekkers at 1,450 meters and sleep at Sine Hut at 2,596 meters being a height gain of 1,146 meters, or those who are fit and want to proceed to Kalalama Camp at 3,134 meters may do so and apart from the fantastic views of both the cliffs above and views across the lowlands and across Lake Edward in Queen Elizabeth National Park. We start by walking up the valley floor through tall forest trees of the Afro Montane Forest Zone.
This is a steady climb for the first six kilometers then after crossing a river it is a steep climb up to Sine Camp. The forest trees are tall with multitudes of birds and a chance of seeing blue monkeys scampering off through the forest. Enock’s Falls are just 200 meters from Sine Hut and offer a splendid opportunity to capture a great screensaver for your memories as brightly clouded green lichen grow on the many lives hanging from the trees with the waterfall as a background. At Sine Camp 2,596 meters we have wooden huts set between tall forest trees on a narrow ridge where you may sit and enjoy the beauty forest while you look down at a long set of rapids and waterfalls crashing over the rocks. Some clients prefer to sit outside enjoying the warmth of the campfire and chat to the guides about the mountains and life in their community. Sine is just below the bamboo zone and the area around has many different bird species. 150 meters from the camp is Enock falls which is set in livid green vegetation and hanging vine. Truly beautiful. Retire and return to the starting point before you proceed to your lodge for relaxation and dinner.
Day 12: Chimp trekking & Bigodi nature walk
After your morning tea, your professional tour guide will take you up from the hotel where you slept and transport you to the park headquarters, where you will receive a training on the laws and regulations of chimp tracking. After learning all of the regulations, you will enter the forest and begin your adventure. Once you have the chimps, you will be permitted to spend more than an hour with them, having fun and taking photographs. You will then be driven back to the resort for lunch as you prepare for your evening bigodi nature walk, where you will meet locals and jazz with them.
Day 13: Transfer to Hoima for a cultural encounter
You will have an early morning breakfast before you are picked for a transfer to Hoima. You will be transferred to Hoima. going through the beautiful and serene city of Fort Portal till you reach Hoima When you arrive, you will be checked in and taken to the lodge where you will spend the night. You will have lunch before visiting the Bunyoro Kitara Heritage Trail. This tour will allow you to engage with the locals before exploring the royal graves of the Bunyoro rulers. You will mingle with the people and learn about their traditions and the various cuisines they eat. You will then be transported back to the resort to freshen up, have supper, and rest.
Day 14:Hoima to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, your experienced guide will pick you up from the lodge where you slept and transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park. You will view the wonderful breathtaking panorama of the Albertine rift valley on your journey to the park, not to mention the Karuma falls, which are so appealing to practically every client who visits Murchison Falls. When you arrive, you will be checked in and taken to the lodge where you will spend the night. We presume that by the time you come, it will be too late to do anything, thus there will be nothing to do. You will have dinner and then relax in preparation for the next day.
Day 15: Early morning game drive and Boat ride in the afternoon.
After having your morning tea, your qualified guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the park for the morning game drive, where you will be able to view a variety of animals such as elephants, lions, and leopards, to name a few. You will then return to the resort for lunch, relax for a little, and then embark on a Nile river launch cruise where you will witness a variety of species like crocodiles, hippos, and many others. Your guide will drive you back to the resort to unwind and have dinner before retiring for the night.
Day 16: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
Immediately after your morning breakfast, your guide will transfer you to kidepo national park found in the northern part of Uganda in the dry savannah being boarded by South Sudan and Kenya. Upon your arrival, you will be checked in and then directed to the lodge where to spend your overnight.
Day 17: Early morning game drive and Karamojong encounter.
You will be driven to the park for the morning game drive. During your game drive, you will encounter a variety of wildlife, including buffalo, cheetahs, and warthogs, to name a few. You will then return to the lodge for lunch before preparing for the Karimojong nature walk in the afternoon, where you will get to engage with the Karimojong pastoralists and discover exactly what they do to earn a living. Furthermore, these pastoralists will walk you around their homes while showing you their cows, performing for you, and showing you how they milk the cows, to name a few. You will then return to your accommodation, have supper, and rest.
Day 18: Early morning game drive, then return to Kampala.
After waking up early enough to grab a warm cup of tea, you will travel to Lake Mburo Rwonyo Park Headquarters, where
Day 19: Transfer to Sipi Falls
Get your early morning breakfast and transfer to Sipi Falls. When you arrive, you will be checked in and taken to a hotel where you will spend the night. You will rest, have lunch, and then embark on a wildlife drive in the Pian Upe game reserve, where you will encounter a variety of wildlife like jackals, Civets, hyenas, and leopards, to name a few. After that, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 20: Sipi Falls hike and transfer to Jinja.
After breakfast, your expert guide will transport you from the resort to the Sipi Falls. This is a great interesting activity since it involves experiencing the magnificent Gisu landscape as well as the gorgeous flows of water from the falls. From there, you’ll arrive at the lodge, eat lunch, and then move to Jinja, passing through sugar plantations and rice farms on the route. When you arrive in Jinja, you will check into your lodge, have supper, and then relax.
Day 21: White water rafting and return to Kampala.
Wake up early in the morning, take a cup of coffee, and then go white water rafting on the Nile, where you will enjoy the experience when you watch the boat sink to the bottom of the river and then rise again. This will take you quite some time. Following lunch at the lodge, you will depart for Kampala, where you will check into the Africana Hotel, eat supper, and then relax. Your safari has come to an end.
