Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the destination for the two-day fly-in safari. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the critically endangered mountain gorillas. It is home to half of the world’s Mountain Gorilla population. It is situated in South Western Uganda on the side of the western rift valley, occupying 331 square kilometers and occupied by Kabale, Kisoro, and Kanungu districts.

The park has an elevation range of 2607m (Rwamunyonyi peak) to 1160m (Ishasha gorge). The threatened Mountain Gorillas can be seen in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is the best spot in the world to track them.

Aside from gorillas, the park is home to 11 different primate types. Among them are black-and-white colobus and L’Hoest’s apes, baboons, and chimps. Forest Elephants and a variety of antelopes are also inhabitants. 42 of the 200 butterfly species found in Bwindi are native to the Albertine Area. There are 23 Albertine Rift endemics among the 350 bird species.

Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park from Kampala (Entebbe or Kajjansi). 

After breakfast, our representative will drive you to Aero Link, where you will check in and board your flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Travel to Kisoro for the northern sector of Bwindi (Rushaga, Nkuringo, and Ruhija) or Kihihi for the southern sector (Buhoma). After landing, you will be greeted by our driver guide, who will accompany you during your stay and transport you to your lodge.  In the afternoon, go to the Batwa villages and talk with the locals.

Day 2: Gorilla detection and return flight to Entebbe 

Wake up early, eat breakfast, prepare a snack, and arrive at the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park Headquarters for the Mountain Gorilla Monitoring (Trekking) orientation and consultation with guides, as well as group split based on which party you will be tracking.

Around 8.30 a.m., you reach the forest in search of Mountain Gorillas. Depending about how far the gorillas are and which gorilla family you watch, tracking will take anything from 2 hours to half a day.

After monitoring, return to the lodge for lunch. Moving to the airstrip for the ride back to Entebbe.
